Eden Hazard wins the FA Cup for Chelsea

Chelsea beat Manchester United 1-0 in the FA Cup final after a first-half penalty from Eden Hazard secured the trophy for the 13-2 ante-post chances.

Hazard gave the Blues the lead from the spot in the 22nd minute after being brought down by Phil Jones.

The Belgian star had been a 6-1 chance to break the deadlock at Wembley while Jones, who was booked for the foul, had been 20-1 to be the first player shown a card.

Chelsea, 2-1 to win in 90 minutes and tipped by Racing Post Sport's Dan Childs as slight outsiders at 21-20 to lift the trophy, held firm in the face of second-half pressure from United to win what may be Antonio Conte's final game in charge of the club.

Bookmakers had anticipated a tight, low-scoring final and so it proved, rewarding backers of under 1.5 goals at 7-4 and under 2.5 at 6-10. The 1-0 Chelsea correct score had been 7-1 before kick-off.

Celtic completed back-to-back trebles in Scotland with a 2-0 victory over Motherwell in the final of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

The Bhoys had been 3-10 to win the final in 90 minutes and they took control of the final early on, with 7-1 chance Callum McGregor opening the scoring in the 11th minute and Olivier Ntcham doubling their lead in the 25th minute. The 2-0 correct score had been an 11-2 chance at kick-off.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is 16-1 to be Arsenal's next permanent manager although Mikel Arteta is no bigger than 1-6 to succeed Arsene Wenger.

Former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is reported to be in talks with West Ham over the vacant managerial position at the London Stadium.
