Chelsea trio Morata, Fabregas and Alonso to miss World Cup
Arsenal man Bellerin also omitted from squad
2010 world champions Spain, who are 13-2 to regain their crown, announced their final 23-man squad for the World Cup on Monday.
Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata misses out, along with his club teammates Cesc Fabregas and Marcos Alonso, and Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin.
Bet365 make Diego Costa 7-4 favourite to be Spain’s top goalscorer at the finals. Isco is next in the betting at 11-2 with David Silva 6-1, Iago Aspas 7-1 and Marco Asensio 8-1.
Thierry Henry is 33-1 to take over at Arsenal but the Frenchman’s focus is on his role as assistant to Belgium coach Roberto Martinez, who named his provisional 28-man squad for the World Cup on Monday.
Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan was the most surprising omission for Belgium, who are 12-1 to lift the trophy in Russia and 5-6 favourites to top England’s group.
