Cameroon

Les Lionnes reached the knockout stage in their first tournament at this level four years ago, when they beat Ecuador 6-0 and also saw off Switzerland. Their squad has been pretty consistent for the last six years with many players plying their trade in Europe, so they could make a big impression with their attacking style of play.

Key player Madelaine Ngono Mani

Canada

Seeing their quest as hosts end in the quarter-finals four years ago was a disappointment and they have collected bronze medals at the last two Olympics. Wins over Japan and Brazil and narrow defeats to France and Germany have demonstrated they have the potential to make their presence felt.
Coach Kenneth Heiner-Moller
Key player Christine Sinclair

Holland

The Dutch needed a playoff victory for the second World Cup running to book their spot in the World Cup and they head to France as European champions. They were beaten by finalists Japan in the last 16 four years ago and should be confident enough to build on that performance having been handed a decent draw.
Coach Sarina Wiegman
Key player Vivianne Miedema

New Zealand

The Football Ferns have failed to win a group game in four attempts at the World Cup and they could be up against it again. They eased through Oceanic qualifying, scoring 38 goals and not conceding in five matches, but this tournament represents a step up in class and they look likely to struggle.
