England

Expectations are high after third place in 2015 and a semi-final appearance at the Euros two years ago. The Lionesses enjoyed an excellent SheBelieves Cup campaign in America - they beat Brazil and Japan and drew with the hosts - and conceded just one goal in eight qualification matches. They have an excellent chance.
Coach Phil Neville
Key player Nikita Parris

Scotland

The Scots make their World Cup finals debut having won seven of their eight qualification matches and they will be looking to improve on their appearance at the Euros, where they fell in the group stage. Claiming a knockout spot is a realistic aim.
Coach Shelley Kerr
Key player Erin Cuthbert

Argentina

They have gone out at the group stage in their only two appearances in the finals and have had to contend with a host of off-field issues in the last few years. They won a playoff with Panama to book their spot but have been handed a tough group and are expected to struggle.
Coach Carlos Borrello
Key player Estefania Banini

Japan

The Nadeshiko claimed the crown in 2001 and were runners-up in Canada four years ago, so they are sure to be a force to be reckoned with. However, there are a lot of new faces in the squad since those successes and they have some big achievements to live up to, although they did win the Under-20 World Cup last year.

Key player Mana Iwabuchi
