France

Expectations are high for the hosts, whose best finish in the World Cup was their fourth spot in Germany eight years ago. They lost 4-1 to England at the SheBelieves Cup in America but they have produced strong results since and seven of their squad members play for Champions League winners Lyon.

South Korea

The Taeguk Ladies made the knockout stage for the first time in Canada four years ago and have proved a tough nut to crack against decent opposition after grabbing goalless draws against Australia and Japan. They have finished third in the last three Asian Games.

Norway

Champions in 1995, the Norwegians would have a much better chance of glory in France if the best player in the world, Ada Hegerberg, made herself available to the national team. They have much to prove after failing to score in three matches at the Euros in 2017.
Coach Martin Sjogren
Key player Maren Mjelde

Nigeria

The 1999 quarter-finalists have failed to get out of the group stage in four attempts since. They have won 11 of 13 African titles but an 8-0 defeat to France in 2018 illustrates the step up in class that will have to be negotiated this summer.
