It’s becoming increasingly clear we are looking at a three-way Super League title race which makes Sunday’s midday showdown between Chelsea and Manchester City all the more important.

City head for Kingstonian in second place having recovered nicely from their October blip with five straight wins.

Chelsea are two points behind with a game in hand, the only team to have beaten leaders Arsenal this season, and are undefeated.

Both teams are solid defensively – City have kept seven clean sheets in eight – which suggests a tight contest between two clubs who have bags of respect for each other.

City hold the upper hand in recent meetings – Chelsea haven’t won any of their last ten clashes in the Super League – although clearly the London side are on a high.
