BBC, 8pm Wednesday

Japan v England

BBC1

England qualified for the knockout stages of the World Cup by winning their opening two games and they can prevail again in their toughest group assignment against Japan.

The Asian side were held 0-0 by Argentina before edging past Scotland courtesy of a penalty, allowing Shelley Kerr's side 12 shots in the match.

Should Japan allow England as much freedom, it could be a comfortable win for Phil Neville's team, who have a host of talented forwards to call on.

Japan have managed only one win in their last six games in a run which included a 3-0 loss to England in the SheBelieves Cup and that result could be emulated in Nice.

Recommendation
England
1pt 21-20 Sky Bet

Key stat
Japan have registered only two wins in their last eight games.

Scotland v Argentina

BBC Alba & BBC4

Scotland should make the knockout phase of the Women's World Cup provided they can take maximum points against Argentina.

Barring certain combinations of results across the other groups, a win should see Shelley Kerr's team finish as one of the four best third-placed sides.

Although the quality of players such as Erin Cuthbert and Kim Little should hand them the edge over 500-1 ante-post shots Argentina, victory could be by a slender margin.

The South Americans were disciplined in their goalless draw with Japan and 1-0 defeat to England and it is unlikely to rain goals in Paris.

Recommendation
Scotland to win & under 3.5 goals
1pt 6-5 Betway, Sky Bet

Key stat
Five of Scotland’s last six matches have featured under 3.5 goals.
