Tuesday's preview

Tuesday's Euro 2022 action is headlined by arguably the biggest game of the group stage with eight-time champions Germany taking on a Spain team many expect to lift the trophy.

Both teams opened their campaigns with comprehensive wins - Germany destroyed Denmark 4-0 and Spain thumped Finland 4-1 - and they could be tough to separate at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Going into the tournament, Spain would probably have been the popular pick among punters for this contest but Jorge Vilda's side are weakened in midfield by the loss of star player Alexia Putellas, who withdrew from the squad just before the tournament through injury.

And given how explosive Martina Voss-Tecklenburg's Germany were against Euro 2017 runners-up Denmark on Friday, this clash could be closer than expected.

Germany and Spain played out a 1-1 draw in the Arnold Clark Cup earlier this year and another stalemate could be on the cards.

In the other match in Group B, pointless duo Denmark and Finland collide at the Stadium MK with both aware it is a must-win contest.

Denmark folded quickly against the Germans but they went into Euro 2022 fresh from a formidable World Cup qualifying campaign in which they won all seven of their matches, scoring 35 goals and conceding only once.

Spearheaded by Chelsea star Pernille Harder, they have more than enough to see off Finland and can get back on their feet with a low-scoring win.

Eight of Denmark's last nine matches have featured three goals or fewer so combining a victory for Lars Sondergaard's side with under 3.5 goals could be the way to go.
