Tuesday's EFL Trophy preview

League One strugglers Accrington have been saving some of their best performances for cup competitions and they can advance to the last eight of the EFL Trophy by defeating divisional rivals Burton at the Pirelli Stadium.

John Coleman's Stanley are unbeaten in four matches and have had a free weekend after Saturday's league game against Portsmouth was postponed.

While Stanley have had some unexpected extra preparation time, Burton must try to go again after Saturday's hard-fought 1-1 draw at home to Derby.

Brewers manager Dino Maamria loves cup competitions so is unlikely to make wholesale changes, but his players may struggle to match the energy of Accrington, who look overpriced in the draw no bet market.

Bristol Rovers can make the most of home advantage in their tussle with League One rivals MK Dons at the Memorial Ground.

Joey Barton's side are up to 12th in the third tier and are 13 points above the second-bottom Dons, who may view the competition as a distraction from their relegation battle.

MK Dons reached the League One playoffs last season but they are having a miserable campaign and have lost 13 of 20 league fixtures.

They lost 1-0 at home to Rovers in an October league encounter and are unlikely to fare any better against them in the EFL Trophy.
