Five defeats and a draw in their last six Sky Bet League Two fixtures have dragged Port Vale into the relegation mix and their troubles could intensify at basement side Notts County.

The hosts breathed life into their survival push with wins over Forest Green and Mansfield, only to lose ground with defeats to Newport and Tranmere.

County played on the front foot against stronger opposition in Newport, winning the shot count 17-10 That expansive approach left them open at the back but their attacking philosophy is unlikely to be exposed by a blunt Vale attack.

Neal Ardley's side have quality in the final third as far as the fourth tier is concerned. Kane Hemmings, the club's top scorer with eight goals, has plenty of EFL experience, Virgil Gomis is an exciting prospect and Enzio Boldewijn injects pace into their attack.

Port Vale have just one clean sheet in their last seven matches in all competitions and have won only four of their 17 away fixtures in League Two.

County notched twice in the reverse fixture at Vale Park in November but have strengthened since then and can make the most of home advantage.
