Fleetwood can make fast start against struggling Southend
Sky Bet League One
3pm Saturday
Fleetwood are clear of the congested battle at the bottom of Sky Bet League One and unlikely to secure a playoff berth but they can muster the motivation to see off relegation-threatened Southend.
The Shrimpers are sliding down England's third tier and their run of 12 matches without a win has seen them trimmed to a shade of odds-on for the drop.
Dislodging boss Chris Powell did little to inspire them as they lost at home to Shrewsbury last time out and they could struggle to mask the gulf in quality between themselves and Joey Barton's men.
Town's form has been patchy all campaign but they go into this match following successive wins to nil against Plymouth and Accrington.
The best punting approach may be to sell the time of Fleetwood's first goal at 48.5 with Sporting Index.
Only top two Luton and Barnsley (30 and 29) have notched more first-half goals than Fleetwood's 28, and they have been fast starters in matches with lowly outfits since the turn of the year.
They were 2-0 up inside the first 30 minutes against Oxford and Wimbledon and netted in the ninth minute away to basement boys Bradford.
Recommendation
Sell time of first Fleetwood goal
at 48.5 Sporting Index
