Preview

Livingston stretched their unbeaten run to 12 games with a 2-0 win at home to Kilmarnock on Wednesday, but it could be 13th time unlucky when they host Aberdeen.

For all that Livingston have improved under the excellent David Martindale it’s hard not to think that their results are surpassing their performances.

Livi are averaging 3.04 shots on target per game in the Scottish Premiership. Compare that to opponents Aberdeen, who are at the 3.92 mark. Obviously, that doesn’t take into account the quality of the finishing or the position of the effort on goal. However, Livi’s XG of 1.26 and the fact they are scoring with 44 per cent of their on-target attempts, the highest conversion rate in the section, suggests their results may not be sustainable.

That aside they take on a very decent Aberdeen outfit. The Dons have been solid on the road this season, barring a trip to Ross County, but even then Aberdeen dominated that contest and somehow managed to lose 4-1. Derek McInnes’ men have been good enough to win at St Johnstone, Hibs and Killie this season and they look value at 9-5 to add Livi to that list.

Shot-shy Kilmarnock have scored just 24 league goals this term and they may now have problems at the other end.

First-choice defenders Kirk Broadfoot, Stuart Findlay, Clevid Dikamona and Calum Waters are all set to miss Killie's clash with St Johnstone.

The Saints have struggled to convert their chances this season, but they must have every chance against a depleted Rugby Park rearguard and they look a nice price.
