Premier League predictions for this weekend's games: Everton v West Ham United, Aston Villa v Brighton, Bournemouth v Norwich City, Chelsea v Newcastle, Leicester City v Burnley, Tottenham v Watford, Wolves v Southampton, Crystal Palace v Manchester City, Manchester United v Liverpool & Sheffield United v Arsenal.

Everton v West Ham United

Marco Silva needs a win to ease the mounting pressure on his position but Everton may have to settle for a point against West Ham, who have been pretty resilient on their travels. The Hammers have put together a run of six away league games without defeat.

Aston Villa v Brighton

Brighton's confidence should be largely restored after their stunning 3-0 victory over Tottenham and they should add to their points tally against Aston Villa, who have drawn their last two home fixtures – 0-0 against West Ham and 2-2 against Burnley.

Bournemouth v Norwich City

The international break has helped Norwich, who have welcomed Tim Krul, Onel Hernandez, Mario Vrancic and Alex Tettey back to training. But they are still far from full-strength and their weaknesses should be seized upon by Bournemouth, who will be looking to cement a position in the top half.

Chelsea v Newcastle United

After a shaky start, Frank Lampard is making positive progress in the Chelsea dugout, steering them to four successive victories. Another three points should be secured against Newcastle, who may struggle to back up their hard-fought 1-0 victory at home to Manchester United.

Leicester City v Burnley

Leicester were on the wrong end of a tight game at Liverpool but the fine margins could be in their favour against Burnley at the King Power Stadium. Burnley are a tough nut to crack but their four-match unbeaten streak could end against the Foxes, who are chasing a top-six finish.

Tottenham v Watford

A nervy encounter is in store at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with two teams desperate to turn their season around. Tottenham were desperately poor at Brighton but should just have the edge over Watford, who looked to be struggling in their 0-0 draw at home to Sheffield United.

Wolves v Southampton

Wolves were outstanding in their 2-0 victory at Manchester City but they have won one of five domestic home fixtures this season and may struggle to justify favouritism against Southampton, who have won four of their last five away games.

Crystal Palace v Manchester City

Kevin De Bruyne has returned to full fitness for Manchester City and should help them sweep aside Crystal Palace. City are long odds-on to win but may struggle to keep a clean sheet against an Eagles side, who famously defeated them 3-2 at the Etihad last season.

Manchester United v Liverpool

Manchester United will be desperate to emerge from their run of five games without a win with a victory over Liverpool but they lack the firepower to seriously trouble the league leaders. Liverpool can maintain their 100 per cent record with a hard-fought away success.

Sheffield United v Arsenal

Bramall Lane is not going to be an easy venue for visiting sides and Sheffield United will not be fearful of getting stuck into Arsenal, who have had their problems on the road. However, the Gunners have far superior attacking players and should edge a narrow victory.
