Premier League: Leicester v Man Utd - odds, team news, key stats & verdict
Red Devils can finish off faltering Foxes to seal Champions League football
Premier League: Leicester City v Manchester United
Where to watch
Sky Sports Main Event, 4pm Sunday
Match odds
21-10 Leicester, 13-10 Man Utd, 13-5 draw
Form
Champions League qualification has come down to the last match of the season with Manchester United one point and two places above Leicester in the race for a top-four finish.
United need a point to make sure of a Champions League spot and a draw would also do Leicester if fourth-placed Chelsea lose to Wolves. The Red Devils will qualify even in defeat if Chelsea lose barring an unprecedented goal difference swing.
If Chelsea draw then Leicester need to win and, should they claim maximum points in that scenario, United would miss out.
However, Leicester have won only four of their last 16 Premier League matches and are yet to record a victory over a side currently in the top six.
United, beaten in the FA Cup semi-finals by Chelsea last weekend, have blown chances to be in a better position in recent home games with draws against West Ham and Southampton.
Team news
James Maddison, Ben Chilwell, Ricardo Pereira, Christian Fuchs and Daniel Amartey are injured and Caglar Soyuncu is suspended. Marc Albrighton is doubtful.
Luke Shaw and Eric Bailly need to be assessed, while Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe are ruled out.
The tactical battle
Both teams have had issues with a back three - Leicester in a 3-0 defeat at Spurs and United in their Wembley exit to Chelsea.
Leicester's big problem has been a lack of pace at the heart of their defence, while the replacement full-backs are set to be targeted by Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford.
Verdict
The game could get messy in the latter stages if a point suits both teams but in the early stages it should be played out normally and taking United to strike a decisive blow could be the way to go.
Leicester are missing key defensive personnel and recent games have seen them ship four at Bournemouth and three at Spurs. Man Utd to win 2-1.
Key stats
- Leicester have not beaten a fellow top-six team this season in the Premier League
- Foxes forward Jamie Vardy leads the Golden Boot race by two heading into the final round of matches
- United have lost one of their last 22 matches against Leicester and won six of the last seven
- The Red Devils have not lost an away match this season when they have scored, with all six of their defeats coming to nil.
