First scorer, total goals and booking betting
Analysis of the key betting markets for Liverpool v Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.
Where to watch
Sky Sports Main Event & Premier League, 4.30pm Sunday
First scorer
Liverpool have failed to find the net on in their last two Premier League games but are the league top scorers with 37 goals and their dangerous front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are strong contenders to strike the first blow against Manchester United at Anfield.
Salah has been the most deadly of the trio this season, netting 13 league goals' but his six-goal team-mate Sadio Mane poses a huge threat and should feel confident after his double in the 4-1 success away to Aston Villa's youngsters in the FA Cup third round.
The pair dominate the first scorer betting with Salah 100-30 and Mane 11-2, although Firmino proved to be a man for the big occasion with his dramatic injury-time winner against Tottenham and is 8-1 to break the deadlock.
With Anthony Martial struggling with a hamstring injury, United will be looking to Edinson Cavani to spearhead their attack.
The Uruguayan has looked sharp and powerful since his arrival in English football and his experience and quality could challenge Liverpool's injury-hit defence.
Cavani is a 7-1 shot and Paul Pogba is 20-1 which looks fairly generous given his impressive match-winning performance at Burnley on Tuesday.
Under/over 2.5 goals
Nine of the last 11 matches between Liverpool and Manchester United have featured fewer than three goals yet there are expectations of a reasonably high goal tally at the weekend with over 2.5 goals pitched at 4-6
During Jose Mourinho's time in charge at United they used to set up very defensively at Anfield and registered 0-0 draws in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 campaigns.
But United haven't shown much more adventure under Solsjkaer and have scored once across their last three meetings against Liverpool.
Each of those matches have featured fewer than three goals, including a goalless draw at Old Trafford in February 2019.
To be carded
Luke Shaw collected his fourth Premier League booking of the season during Manchester United's 1-0 success at Burnley on Tuesday and is likely to be at the forefront of punters' minds when they decide which players are likely to be carded this weekend.
The 25-year-old left-back delivered a robust performance during United's 1-0 success at Burnley on Tuesday but had to wait for a few nervous minutes on a first-half VAR decision after his strong challenge on Clarets' winger Johann Gudmundsson.
After taking a look at the screen, referee Kevin Friend decided that a yellow card was sufficient but Shaw may have to defend with a little more circumspection to avoid adding to his bookings tally on Merseyside.
Shaw has been booked seven times in all competitions this season, including on each of his last three appearances.
He received a yellow card during United's 2-0 loss at Liverpool in January 2020 and is 15-8 to enter arbiter Paul Tierney's notebook on Sunday.
