St Mirren should finally seal Ladbrokes Championship title
Third time lucky for the Buddies against Livingston
3pm Saturday
St Mirren have already had two opportunities to wrap up the Ladbrokes Scottish Championship title, but they can finally clinch it at their Paisley home against Livingston.
Other results did not go their way last week when they kept their end of the bargain by beating relegated Brechin, and they slipped up at Dundee United on Tuesday.
However, they are formidable at home and they should be able to gain revenge on a Livingston side who beat them convincingly in West Lothian in February.
The Buddies have lost just once at home in the league in 14 months and haven't conceded in their last seven games on their own patch.
Jack Ross's men will also be backed by a bumper crowd eager to celebrate.
Livingston have surely done enough to clinch second spot in the table, which is a superb achievement.
But they are likely to have to yield to a motivated Saints side who are waiting to celebrate a richly deserved promotion.
Stenhousemuir should have too much for Annan at Ochilview and continue their push for a Ladbrokes League Two playoff spot.
Brown Ferguson's men had been going through a rough spell, but they put to bed with a convincing 4-1 victory at Edinburgh City last week.
The catalyst was a fine performance from new loan signing from Rangers Andy Dallas, who grabbed a double on his debut.
Another loanee from a Ladbrokes Premiership side, Hearts's Harry Paton, has been excellent this season and they can combine with the experience of striker Colin McMenamin, who is still scoring at 37.
Saturday football columns
Annan have lost their last five away games and Stenny should win.
In the same division, Elgin should ease past Edinburgh City, who will be glad when the season is over.
Elgin are the best home team in this division having lost just three of 16 games at Borough Briggs this term, but their atrocious road form means they are having to fight to even earn a top-four spot, which would give them a crack at the playoffs.
Prolific hitman Shane Sutherland is just starting to find his fitness after being out for months with a knee injury and he could make the difference against the capital side.
