Seattle and Toronto could put on a show at CenturyLink

Goals have been a feature since cagey MLS final meeting

Seattle beat Toronto on penalties after 120 minutes of goalless action to win last season’s MLS Cup final but a small bet on there being four or more goals when Toronto visit CenturyLink Field could prove good value.

The Sounders drew 3-3 at home to New England on Sunday after trailing 3-0 to the Revolution with 15 minutes left and won 3-0 at LA Galaxy a fortnight ago.

They have also beaten New York Red Bulls 3-1 at CenturyLink and drawn 2-2 at Montreal Impact this campaign.

Toronto have won three home games on the spin so confidence should be high and they have scored at least two goals in six of their nine matches including trips to Philadelphia Union and the Vancouver Whitecaps. They drew 2-2 in Philadelphia and won 2-1 in Vancouver.

Before last season’s tight final, both these teams had scored in their last five MLS regular-season meetings and there had been ten goals in the three Seattle clashes.

Jozy Altidore and Sebastian Giovinco have both scored five goals each this campaign for Toronto, who will be desperate to avenge that crunch spot-kick defeat in December in front of their own fans at BMO Stadium.

Three goals for Clint Dempsey, Will Bruin and Nicolas Lodeiro suggest that Seattle’s sluggish title defence should pick up soon.
