Things are getting serious in the Premier League with the end of the season on the horizon and it could be a defining day at both ends of the table.

Manchester City and Liverpool continue their title challenges on the road at Leeds and Newcastle, while Vicarage Road hosts a key basement battle between Watford and Burnley.

There should also be plenty of thrills and spills in the Football League with the League One campaign coming to a close, while time is also running out in the Championship and League Two.

Newcastle v Liverpool

BT Sport 1, 12.30pm Saturday

Liverpool will be heavy odds-on favourites to win each of their remaining games but the contest with Newcastle looks their biggest banana skin. No visiting side have scored more than once at St James' Park since Manchester City's 4-0 success in December and the title-chasing Reds may have to adopt a patient approach.

Liverpool to win & under 3.5 goals

Leeds v Manchester City

Sky Sports Main Event & Premier League, 5.30pm Saturday

Not only have Man City been efficient in sweeping aside the Premier League’s lesser lights but Leeds have struggled to raise their game when facing the division's elite, losing all nine meetings with top-six sides this season. The table-topping Citizens should be at least two goals too good for Leeds at Elland Road.

Best bet
Manchester City -1 goal on handicap

Bet of the day

Bristol Rovers to beat Rochdale
3pm Saturday

Bristol Rovers remain in the League Two automatic promotion hunt and an eighth win in 11 looks probable for Joey Barton's side, who should have too much quality and desire for 18th-placed Dale. The hosts have won only 11 of their 44 league matches and should be outclassed.

Best goalscorer bet of the day

Newcastle v Liverpool

Diogo Jota has been used sparingly by Jurgen Klopp in recent weeks, starting just one of their last four games, so the Portuguese striker should be fresh. Jota has 15 goals in 23 Premier League starts this campaign and at 13-10 with Betfair and Paddy Power looks good value to add to that tally.

Diogo Jota to score at any time

Stat of the day

Southampton v Crystal Palace 3pm Saturday

Both teams have scored in each of the last five Premier League meetings between these teams at St Mary’s.
