Preview
Liverpool’s quadruple bid is gathering pace and they travel to Newcastle for the early kick-off trying to keep up the pressure on Manchester City, who face Leeds in later in day.
Rotation will be key for the Reds, who faced a Champions League semi-final against Villarreal less than 72 hours before this lunchtime encounter.
Diogo Jota has been used sparingly by Jurgen Klopp in recent matches, starting just one of their last four. With a huge run-in, bringing in a forward with that level of freshness may be key and the Portuguese striker looks a big price to find the net against the Magpies.
Jota has 15 goals in 23 Premier League starts this campaign and with his competition for the number nine spot Sadio Mane having started all of the last four games, it may be the former Wolves man’s time to shine.
Newcastle right-back Emil Krafth has improved under Eddie Howe but can still be susceptible to a rash challenge and was fortunate not to pick up back-to-back bookings in his last two home games, getting away with one against Crystal Palace.
The Swede has been booked five times in 15 starts for the Magpies this year, so 11-2 about him being shown a card when facing arguably the best forward line in world football appeals.
Manchester City will be missing Kyle Walker against Leeds and the Whites’ pacy Dan James could cause the Citizens issues.
The Welshman has averaged more than two shots per 90 minutes this season and has led the line for Leeds in Patrick Bamford’s place.
James could be the man to exploit a lack of pace in Pep Guardiola’s defence and is fancied at 6-4 to have two or more shots.
Watford host Burnley in a huge game in the relegation battle. The Clarets have looked rejuvenated in recent weeks and the resurgence of Dwight McNeil has played a part in that.
The winger leads Burnley for expected assists this season with four but has only one to his name. With Ashley Westwood out for the season, McNeil is likely to take most, if not all of Burnley’s set pieces and is fancied for an assist at 9-2.
