Team news
Tottenham
Cristian Romero (muscle strain) has joined Oliver Skipp (ankle) on the sidelines but Clement Lenglet could be involved after a minor injury.
Wolves
Chiquinho and Raul Jimenez (both knee) are ruled out but Joao Moutinho has returned to training and may make his first appearance of the season. Matheus Nunes could make his debut but Morgan Gibbs-White signed for Nottingham Forest on Friday.
Match preview
Tottenham had to show their battling qualities to extract a 2-2 draw from a feisty London derby at Chelsea last Sunday but their offensive ability should be key to defeating Wolves this weekend.
Spurs' high-class front three of Dejan Kulusevski, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son were kept quiet for large parts at Stamford Bridge, although Kane had the final say with his injury-time equaliser.
Antonio Conte was pleased with a point at Stamford Bridge but he was soon stressing the vital importance of backing it up against Wolves.
Last season the teams traded away victories with Spurs recording a backs-to-the-wall 1-0 success at Molineux last August while Wolves cruised to a 2-0 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in February.
Wolves moved one point above Tottenham after that success, leaving them seemingly well-placed to push for European qualification. But the teams went in different directions in the final three months of the season as Spurs nailed down a top-four finish and Wolves slid to tenth.
Tottenham have spent the summer beefing up their squad and they will have to make one enforced change at the weekend because central defender Cristian Romero is facing a few weeks on the sidelines.
Davinson Sanchez is Romero's most likely replacement and the Colombian's lack of recent game-time may encourage a fleet-footed Wolves attack which is at its best when afforded spaces to exploit on the counter.
Wolves had their moments in last Saturday's goalless draw at home to Fulham, but a lack of composure cost them at the key moments and their slow start to the season is a slight concern given that four of their next eight matches are against big-six teams.
Bruno Lage has urged his side to be more clinical in front of goal and he may be tempted to hand a first start to Portuguese international centre-forward Goncalo Guedes, who was snapped up on a permanent deal from Valencia.
Guedes, who netted 11 times in La Liga last term, could increase the Wolves threat and help to deny Spurs in their search for a first clean sheet of the campaign.
However, while Wolves may find a way past Hugo Lloris, they are unlikely to keep a lid on Spurs' fearsome frontline.
Tottenham have scored 66 goals in 30 Premier League matches since Conte's arrival and they have racked up three or more goals in six of their last eight home fixtures.
A fortnight ago the Londoners comfortably recovered from a goal down to thump Southampton 4-1, and they could chalk up another high-scoring victory this weekend.
