Match preview
Tottenham's Premier League form continues to perplex punters but Antonio Conte's side pose a serious goal threat and that makes them worth backing to take three points against leg-weary London rivals West Ham.
The Hammers celebrated a famous Europa League victory against six-time winners Sevilla on Thursday night and their fans are now looking forward to a quarter-final against Lyon and a potential semi against Barcelona.
However, David Moyes's men needed extra-time to seal a 2-1 aggregate win over the Andalusians thanks to a 112th-minute strike from Andriy Yarmolenko and the quick turnaround could work in Tottenham's favour.
Spurs and West Ham kick off level on 48 points, although the Hammers have played one more game, and the hosts will be desperate to improve their record against the top teams in the Premier League.
The mercurial nature of Tottenham's performances is reflected by their results against the rest of this season's top eight. They have done the double over leaders Manchester City and drawn 2-2 at home to title contenders Liverpool but lost seven of their eight fixtures against Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, West Ham and Wolves.
They followed up their dramatic 3-2 victory at City with a dismal 1-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Burnley, prompting Conte to question his own future at the club.
Spurs bounced back from the Turf Moor defeat by thumping Leeds 4-0 at Elland Road before a limp FA Cup exit against Championship side Middlesbrough.
Another fine win – 5-0 at home to Everton – was followed by another disappointing defeat, although Manchester United needed a brilliant Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick to earn an unconvincing 3-2 win, and a more prosaic 2-0 victory at out-of-form Brighton on Wednesday.
Spurs are not without a chance of making the top four given their remaining fixtures and a front three of Dejan Kulusevski, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son should cause problems for most top-flight defences.
West Ham stood firm in the reverse fixture, a 1-0 win at the London Stadium in which Michail Antonio scored the only goal in the second half, but their extra-time efforts against Sevilla will surely have taken their toll.
Key forward Antonio ended up playing 120 minutes on Thursday, having been a fitness doubt before the game, and in-form winger Jarrod Bowen remains sidelined.
The Hammers lost 2-1 at Tottenham in the EFL Cup quarter-final just before Christmas and their recent away form has been patchy, with 1-0 defeats at Manchester United, Liverpool and Sevilla in the past two months.
They needed extra-time to edge past non-league Kidderminster in the FA Cup fourth round, lost 3-1 at Southampton in the next round, and needed an injury-time Craig Dawson header to pinch a 2-2 draw at struggling Leicester last month so they may well leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium empty-handed.
Key stat
Tottenham have scored at least twice in eight of their last ten home Premier League games.
