Match preview
Tottenham have fallen into a rut of sorry starts and storming finishes, a combination that makes them hard to fancy at short prices but fun to watch.
Seven times in their last eight matches they have trailed at half-time but they have hit back to win or draw five of those matches.
It makes them a nerve-shredding side to support, costly to back but great entertainment, and there's every reason to believe their showdown with Aston Villa should be a belter.
There are so many potential bets to look at – both teams to score, BTTS and over 2.5 goals, Villa to win a half, Spurs to win the second half, the list goes on.
The one bet that does become slightly difficult to justify is Tottenham at 4-6 given they have lost four of their last nine in the league having not lost any of their first seven.
They are also missing key figures in Rodrigo Bentancur and Richarlison and their World Cup stars, Harry Kane included, looked worn out in Boxing Day's 2-2 draw with Brentford.
Yes, Kane scored in the second half as Tottenham were forced to rally once more, but he looked leggy and wasteful in the first period, as did Ivan Perisic and Heung-Min Son.
That Tottenham shipped two at Brentford should surprise nobody – they have conceded at least two goals in each of their last six, a run of matches which includes games against Bournemouth and Leeds.
Anyone at the moment can find a way through Spurs' back line and Villa are generally positive.
It's worth noting that Villa average 13.3 shots per game away from home compared to Spurs who average only 12.3 at home.
Villa will feel they've got a sniff at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. A side who scored just seven goals in their first 11 matches have now banged in ten in five, and even in defeat to Liverpool on their return from the World Cup break they totted up plenty of chances and more than played their part in a decent affair.
Unai Emery can welcome back World Cup hero Emi Martinez between the sticks and the Argentinian cat was certainly missed against Liverpool where Robin Olsen wasn't great.
And you sense they'll get chances against a Spurs defence who are the leakiest in the top eight with 23 goals conceded, only two fewer than Villa have let in.
Tottenham have lost one half in nine of their 16 matches, while both teams have scored in 11 of them. Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score looks a decent way in to this one.

Spurs have won 14 points from losing positions, the most in the Premier League.
