Preview

One of the main reasons for Liverpool’s success this season compared to last is the return of Jordan Henderson to a holding midfield role, which has allowed the two number eights in Klopp’s system to be more aggressive in attack.

Naby Keita came off injured after scoring in last weekend’s drubbing of Manchester United but has been passed fit for this game and looks likely to be joined in midfield by Curtis Jones, who appears to be further up the pecking order than Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Both Keita and Jones have averaged more than two shots per 90 minutes this season and a chance is taken on both to rack up three or more shots against Brighton.

In the early kick off, an intriguing encounter between Arsenal and Leicester may be decided by the young English attacking midfielders on either side.

Emile Smith Rowe is key to the Gunners’ attacking output and even money is more than fair for the midfielder to have a shot on target in this game.

Smith Rowe is not a prolific shooter, but 61.5 per cent of his strikes this season have been on target, a figure bettered only by Phil Foden.

Apart from the 5-0 defeat to Manchester City, the 21-year-old has registered a shot on target in every Premier League game this season and is fancied for another here.

Newcastle are likely to struggle against league leaders Chelsea, but Graeme Jones’s side will look to exploit set pieces if they are to have an advantage. In this fixture last season Newcastle secured a late winner from a set play.

Matt Ritchie tops the Premier League in dead-ball passes that lead to shot attempts with 17, and odds of 10-1 may underestimate his chances of him making an assist. He is half the price with almost all other oddsmakers.
