Preview
Despite being just 24 years old, Trent Alexander-Arnold is third on the all-time Premier League assist count for defenders.
Yet he has been unusually quiet on that front this season, registering just one.
The right-back has managed at least 12 assists in three of his last four seasons so the slowdown is a concern.
However, he has put up an expected-assists figure of 3.8, indicating that he may be a victim of his teammates’ poor finishing.
Alexander-Arnold looks due for a reversal in those fortunes and may get some joy against an inexperienced Chelsea left flank. Boylesports offer a tempting 9-2 that the Liverpool man registers an assist.
Brighton have been a revelation under Roberto De Zerbi and a significant part of their recent success has been the contribution of 18-year-old Evan Ferguson up front.
The Irishman has the physicality that the Seagulls have lacked at times up top and he has scored twice and registered two assists in just four Premier League games.
Ferguson could make hay against a poor Leicester defence and the 11-10 for him to register an assist or score makes plenty of appeal.
While the injury to Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes is not as bad as it first appeared, it is unlikely he will be risked against Crystal Palace given that they have an EFL Cup semi-final on Tuesday.
In his absence Sean Longstaff looks set to be handed the extra responsibility of anchoring the Magpies’ midfield and as a result looks overpriced to pick up a card.
The Eagles are the most fouled team in the Premier League this season with a tally of 247, and will try to hit Eddie Howe’s side on the break.
The 7-1 for Longstaff, who has already been booked twice this season, to be shown a card looks overpriced.
Joelinton is also likely to return to his role as a midfield enforcer and is also fancied for a card.
The Brazilian ranks seventh in the top flight for fouls this season and has already been booked six times so the 3-1 about him doing so again is more than fair.
