Saturday's player props preview

Gabriel Martinelli signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal yesterday and he could celebrate by having a major say in their lunchtime kick-off against Everton.

The Brazilian has netted seven times in the Premier League this season and his tally of two assists does not tell the full story.

Martinelli has an expected assists figure of 4.8 this season - sixth in the division - and an upturn in his teammates’ finishing should see his assist numbers increase.

The 21-year-old will fancy his chances against Everton’s Seamus Coleman, who is likely to start at right-back, and Martinelli is fancied to either score or register an assist at 21-20.

Manchester United and Crystal Palace do not measure up similarly on many stats this season but one area where they are virtually identical is card tallies.

The Red Devils have picked up 50 cards this season while the Eagles have received 48, figures that are both in the top four in the Premier League.

Both teams also rank in the top three for fouls committed - 474 between the pair of them - and with Andre Marriner, who averages 3.86 cards this season, refereeing, the line of four or more cards looks likely to be surpassed in this clash at 19-20.

Leicester had a strong January transfer window but are just a point off the relegation zone and need to turn their season around sooner rather than later.

The Foxes face Aston Villa and despite their improvements under Unai Emery, the Villans have conceded 13 times in his nine games in charge.

Leicester have leaned heavily on Harvey Barnes for goals this season and the wide man is their joint-top scorer with seven.

With question marks about who will start up front for Brendan Rodgers’ men it may pay to side with Barnes to get on the scoresheet.

His 1.19 shots on target per game ranks in the top 20 in the Premier League and 4-1 for him to score looks overpriced.

Bruno Guimaraes will miss Newcastle’s next three games, meaning Joelinton will move back into a midfield role and the Brazilian remains one of the most combative players in the league.

Joelinton’s seven yellow cards makes him the most-booked player this season per minutes played in the Premier League and, as a result, it is a surprise to see him as a 4-1 chance to be shown a card against West Ham.
