Saturday's preview

Newcastle managed to do everything but score in their last game against Crystal Palace and Joe Willock was involved in a large number of their chances.

With fellow central midfielders Bruno Guimaraes, Sean Longstaff and Joelinton primarily concerned with the more defensive side of the game or playmaking, Willock is Newcastle’s primary late runner into the box.

The 23-year-old scored eight times two seasons ago and looks to be recapturing some of that form.

Willock has accumulated 1.4 expected goals without finding the net this season and the 9-2 about him scoring against the team with the leakiest defence in the division looks overpriced.

In the same game the Magpies may use the pace of Ryan Fraser to exploit Bournemouth right-back Adam Smith.

The Cherries defender has already been booked four times this season and even if he can avoid diving in against Fraser, his likely replacement Elliot Anderson is also a tricky customer. The 11-4 about Smith to be shown a card is of interest.

Much has been made of the slow start that Heung-Min Son has made to the new campaign but his style of play could be uniquely suited to taking on Saturday’s opponents Leicester.

Son, and by extension the Spurs’ attack, are often most effective on the counter attack and that is where the Foxes have looked most vulnerable this season.

Spurs’ total of 15 direct attacks leading to a shot is the biggest in the league and Son has the most expected goals - 1.9 - without finding the net. The 6-4 about the forward breaking his duck for the campaign is worth taking.

However, the South Korean also flourishes as a creative force, registering 27 assists in the last three seasons. Son is Tottenham’s primary set-piece taker and Leicester’s 2.56 expected goals from such situations is the second-most in the league.

Odds of 4-1 about a Son assist look big against a poor Leicester defence that looks especially vulnerable from counter attack and set-piece situations.
