Chelsea v Sheffield United

Frank Lampard will feel much happier after getting his first victory as Chelsea manager and can make it two from two by steering them to success over Sheffield United.

Young players are going to be crucial for Chelsea this season and Lampard must have been delighted with the performances of Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham in the 3-2 win at Norwich.

Chelsea have got goals in them but they look suspect at the back and may concede against the Blades, who are happy to take a few risks in their quest for survival.

Recommendation
Chelsea to win & both teams to score

1pt 9-4 Betway

Team news
Chelsea
Mason Mount has overcome a knock but Callum Hudson-Odoi, Antonio Rudiger, N'Golo Kante, Pedro and Reece James are ruled out.

Sheffield United
John Fleck (hamstring) returns to the squad but Kean Bryan (ankle) is a doubt.

Key stat
Chelsea have kept two clean sheets in their last eight league games.

Crystal Palace v Aston Villa

Poor home results have dogged Crystal Palace for several seasons and it is hard to trust them as favourites to defeat Aston Villa this weekend.

Palace still have the knack of playing on the road, as they showed when winning 2-1 at Manchester United last Saturday.

But four days later they were dumped at of the EFL Cup at Selhurst Park by League Two Colchester.

Roy Hodgson will be demanding improvement but Villa impressed during last Friday's 2-0 victory at home to Everton and will be a tough nut to crack.

Recommendation
Draw

1pt 12-5 general

Team news
Crystal Palace
Patrick van Aanholt, Jeffrey Schlupp and Joel Ward are being assessed after picking up minor injuries and Mamadou Sakho and James Tomkins are definite absentees.

Aston Villa
Matt Targett (hamstring) joins James Chester and Jonathan Kodjia in the treatment room.

Key stat
Crystal Palace have won just two of their last nine home fixtures.

Leicester v Bournemouth

Brendan Rodgers wants Leicester to be competitive on all fronts and sent out a strong side to take on Newcastle in Wednesday's EFL Cup tie on Tyneside.

The Foxes had to win a shootout to go through but their victory should have helped to soothe any tired legs and minds.

Bournemouth took the opposite approach, making wholesale changes, and needed penalties to see off Forest Green.

Eddie Howe will revert to a first-choice side but they may lack the defensive strength to stop the Foxes, who are worthy odds-on favourites.

Recommendation
Leicester

1pt 8-11 general

Team news
Leicester
Ben Chilwell (hip) could return to the side and Wilfred Ndidi (hamstring) is also available.

Bournemouth
Charlie Daniels (knee) will miss the rest of the season and Simon Francis and Lewis Cook (both knee) are out.

Key stat
Leicester have lost just two of their last 13 matches.

Manchester City v Brighton

Manchester City dropped two points in their first home match of the season but it is hard to see them failing to defeat Brighton at the Etihad.

Brighton have showed signs of early improvement under Graham Potter, who has experience of locking horns with Pep Guardiola.

Potter's Swansea team lost 3-2 at home to City in an FA Cup quarter-final earlier this year and might have done even better had decisions not gone against them.

Raheem Sterling was a key figure that night, winning a controversial penalty, and he looks a likely match-winner this weekend.

Recommendation
R Sterling first scorer

1pt 10-3 bet365

Team news
Manchester City
John Stones (thigh) could return to the squad but Gabriel Jesus, Benjamin Mendy and Leroy Sane remain on the sidelines.

Brighton
Florin Andone starts a three-game ban and Yves Bissouma, Jose Izquierdo and Ezequiel Schelotto are injured.

Key stat
Raheem Sterling has scored in each of his four appearances this season.

Newcastle v Watford

Watford chairman Gino Pozzo is not known for his patience and that may explain why Hornets boss Javi Gracia rumoured to be under pressure already.

However, Gracia has done some sterling work for the Hornets and his players can lift the pressure by beating Newcastle at St James' Park.

Watford were punished for committing too many players forward when losing 3-1 at home to West Ham last Saturday but they have a superior attack to Newcastle and look overpriced to get the victory.

Recommendation
Watford

1pt 2-1 Betfred

Team news
Newcastle
Joelinton has overcome a groin strain but Matt Ritchie (ankle), Emil Krafth (thigh), Jetro Willems and Alan Saint-Maximin (hamstring) are out.

Watford
Roberto Pereyra (thigh) is available but Troy Deeney (knee) is sidelined.

Key stat
Watford have won six of their last eight matches against Newcastle.

West Ham v Norwich

Norwich are an exciting team to watch but they ship a lot of goals and their dodgy defence could let them down at the London Stadium, where they take on resurgent West Ham.

Daniel Farke's side have played two of the big six (Liverpool and Chelsea) so a return of three points from nine is perfectly acceptable.

However, Norwich have the worst defensive record in the division, conceding eight goals, and are likely to exposed by the Hammers, who have been getting some early returns on their significant investment in centre-forward Sebastien Haller.

Recommendation
West Ham

1pt 10-11 Betfair, Betfred, Betway

Team news
West Ham
Michail Antonio (thigh) faces a spell on the sidelines but Javier Hernandez (knee) is back in contention.

Norwich
Josip Drmic (hamstring) is a doubt and Christoph Zimmermann, Timm Klose and Onel Hernandez are injured.

Key stat
Norwich have not kept a clean sheet in their last ten fixtures.
