Premier League: Saturday 3pm kick-offs | tips, odds & betting predictions
Bournemouth v Sheff U | Burnley v Soton | Palace v Everton | Watford v Brighton
Bournemouth v Sheffield United
Bournemouth managed to keep hold of Nathan Ake but their defence has never been particularly robust and that could lead to goals when they face newly-promoted Sheffield United.
The Cherries were involved in more high-scoring games than any other Premier League club last season, with over 2.5 goals copping in 24 of their 38 matches last term, and there is little reason for that to change in the new season.
The Blades were not as prolific, but Chris Wilder will view this as a winnable opening fixture and his side are likely to attack at Dean Court.
Recommendation
Both teams to score
1pt 10-13 RedZone
Team news
Bournemouth
David Brooks, Dan Gosling, Lloyd Kelly, Simon Francis, Lewis Cook and Junior Stanislas all miss out.
Sheffield United
The Blades have a fully fit squad and new signing Lys Mousset could make his debut against his old club.
Key stat
Games involving Bournemouth averaged 3.32 goals last season.
Burnley v Southampton
Ralph Hasenhuttl impressed in his first season as Southampton manager but his team are likely to struggle to get the better of Burnley at Turf Moor.
The Saints have the stronger squad and are well drilled, but Sean Dyche’s Clarets are always tough to beat on their own patch and they have kept hold of key players over the summer. They are not pretty but they are likely to retain their Premier League status for another season.
The hosts were distracted by the Europa League at the start of the 2018-19 campaign but should be spot on for this opening fixture.
Recommendation
Burnley

Team news
Burnley
Jay Rodriguez and Erik Pieters could play but Danny Drinkwater, Robbie Brady and Steven Defour miss out.
Southampton
New signings Che Adams and Moussa Djenepo could make their Southampton debuts.
Key stat
Burnley picked up 16 points from a possible 24 in their last eight home games of the 2018-19 season.
Crystal Palace v Everton
Wilfried Zaha remains at Crystal Palace for the next few months but the wantaway winger may not be able to save the Eagles from defeat against this week's suitors Everton.
The Toffees have lost Idrissa Gueye but have had a good summer in general, signing Andre Gomes on a permanent deal and bringing in Fabian Delph, Djibril Sidibe, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Alex Iwobi and the hugely talented Italian forward Moise Kean.
Everton were not always great on the road last season but they were the better side in a dull 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park in April and look value for the victory.
Recommendation
Everton
1pt 16-11 RedZone
Team news
Crystal Palace
Wilfried Zaha is in the Palace squad but James Tomkins, Mamadou Sakho and Jeffrey Schlupp are out.
Everton
Fabian Delph is injured and Leighton Baines is a doubt but Alex Iwobi and Moise Kean are available.
Key stat
Crystal Palace picked up just 18 of their 49 points at home last season.
Watford v Brighton
Watford will count the 2018-19 season as a decent one, finishing mid-table in the Premier League and reaching an FA Cup final, and they are likely to prove too strong for Brighton in their season opener.
The Seagulls’ summer went from average to excellent with the signings of Aaron Mooy, Neal Maupay and Adam Webster but new manager Graham Potter has not had much time to work with his new recruits and it may take time for them to bed in.
Javi Gracia’s Hornets are a more settled unit and look likely to claim all three points.
Recommendation
Watford

Team news
Watford
Gerard Deulofeu is fit and Roberto Pereyra could also play a part.
Brighton
Neal Maupay, Adam Webster, Leandro Trossard and Aaron Mooy could all play but Jose Izquierdo, Yves Bissouma and Ezequiel Schelotto are out.
Key stat
Brighton picked up 23 of their 36 points at home last season.
