Premier League predictions for this weekend's games: Norwich City v Watford, Chelsea v Crystal Palace, Burnley v West Ham United, Newcastle United v Bournemouth, Southampton v Everton, Tottenham Hotspur v Sheffield United, Leicester City v Arsenal, Manchester United v Brighton & Hove Albion, Wolves v Aston Villa and Liverpool v Manchester City.

Norwich City v Watford

It’s one point out of a possible 18 for Norwich and the team who couldn’t stop scoring have found the net just twice in six matches since stunning Manchester City. That has to give winless, but improving, Watford hope that they can break their duck.

Chelsea v Crystal Palace

This is part four of a brutal five-match sequence of fixtures for Palace who can expect to be seriously tested by free-scoring Chelsea. Frank Lampard’s bright young things haven’t failed to score a league goal since the opening weekend, with 25 goals netted.

Burnley v West Ham United

West Ham were abject in defeat at home to Newcastle and have gone five league games without a win since being routed at Oxford in the League Cup. They’ll need to roll up their sleeves to get anything from Turf Moor but the Hammers can add to their three road draws.

Newcastle United v Bournemouth

The Cherries stopped a mini rot by beating Manchester United last week with their first goal in four games. They are far less leaky than they were at the start of the season so expect something tight at St James’ Park, where just six goals have been witnessed in five games.

Southampton v Everton

No Premier League home wins in seven takes on no Premier League away wins in eight in a game with ramifications for two under-pressure bosses. Saints have trailed at half-time in all five home games this season, a fragile platform that suggests another bleak day for them.

Tottenham Hotspur v Sheffield United

Unbeaten in four against London opponents – they have beaten Palace and Arsenal 1-0 and drawn with Chelsea and West Ham – the Blades will be confident. Goals are scarce in their games – just 20 in 11 games – so it won’t be easy for Spurs to wear them down.

Leicester v Arsenal

Over the last two seasons the four fixtures between these sides have produced 18 goals with the Foxes winning both at the King Power. They should be confident of completing the hat-trick against an untrustworthy defence.

Manchester United v Brighton

Graham Potter’s Amex revolution is coming good with three wins in their last four. All of those were at home, however. On the road, Albion have failed to score in six of their last nine but are looking solid enough to be able to frustrate stuttering United.

Wolves v Aston Villa

Wolves aren’t losing many but they aren’t winning many either. It’s seven draws in 11 for Nuno’s men, who can expect a serious test from a Villa side who need to see out games. They have conceded in the 80th minute or later eight times.

Liverpool v Manchester City

It’s title fight time with the big two clashing at Anfield after surviving unlikely tests against Villa and Southampton last Saturday. The Reds are unbeaten in 18 at home to Manchester City but the champions have proved adept at these high-pressure occasions.
