Liverpool and Manchester City 13-8 joint-favourites for title supremacy

Liverpool missed the opportunity to return to the Premier League summit after their 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday night, but the point was enough to see the champions move alongside the Citizens at the head of the title betting.

The sharing of the spoils ensured Jurgen Klopp’s Reds maintained their five-point cushion over chief title rivals City, who have a game in hand, with bet365 making the pair 13-8 joint-favourites for Premier League supremacy.

There were early warning signs for Manchester City and Liverpool’s pressure paid off when Mohamed Salah, who was 6-1 to open the scoring with BoyleSports, put the champions in front from the penalty spot after Sadio Mane was brought down from a rash Kyle Walker challenge.

The Reds were perfectly set up for counter-attack, with Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota both selected alongside Salah and Mane in attack. But it was City who grew into the contest and Gabriel Jesus levelled expertly on the half-hour mark with a cool finish after a neat turn.

Things could have got even better for City minutes before the break when they were awarded a penalty of their own, only for their Belgian talisman Kevin De Bruyne to drag his spot-kick wide.

The tempo dropped in the second period and chances were becoming increasingly rare, with Liverpool happy to take the point that maintained the breathing space between themselves and City.

Pep Guardiola’s men have now dropped points in four of their last six Premier League games, while netting just once in each of their last five fixtures.

A day that started with Southampton top chopped and changed dramatically with Tottenham enjoying a brief spell at top of Premier League before Leicester leapfrogged them with their win at home to Wolves.

Spurs left it late at The Hawthorns but Harry Kane grabbed his 150th Premier League goal - he his 15-8 with Coral to break Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League record of 260 goals - to reward them with their second consecutive 1-0 win.

Leicester overcame Wolves by the same scoreline at the King Power Stadium to replace Tottenham at the top of the pile, with last season’s Golden Boot hero Jamie Vardy notching his eighth goal of the campaign.

Spurs are 15-2 third-favourites to win the Premier League, with the pace-setting Foxes 33-1 to emulate their surprise title triumph of 2015-16.

A new-look Chelsea, who took their unbeaten run to six with Saturday's 4-1 win at home to Sheffield United, are one of only four teams at single-figure title odds at 8-1.
