Match preview

Nottingham Forest have shown significant signs of progress in recent weeks but they remain rooted to the foot of the Premier League table and may be found wanting at home to Crystal Palace.

Having lost six of their opening eight games, Forest have stepped it up a notch by losing only two of their last six, beating Liverpool 1-0 at home and also holding Aston Villa and Brentford to draws at the City Ground.

But Palace are one of the Premier League’s form teams at present, having won four and drawn one of their last six top-flight matches, and are by far the more likely victors in the east Midlands.

This promises to be a closely-fought encounter but while goals remain an issue for Forest - they have scored just ten goals in 14 outings - the Eagles possess great attacking talent and should be feeling pretty positive.

Key stat

Crystal Palace have lost only four of their 13 Premier League games this season, three of which have come against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.
