Team news
Norwich
Long term absentees Adam Idah, Ozan Kabak, Josh Sargent and Andrew Omobamidele remain out. Brandon Williams may return after sitting out against his parent club last week.
Newcastle
Callum Wilson, Kieran Trippier and Ryan Fraser will miss out while Eddie Howe may also rest some of his key players.
Match preview
On Christmas Day Newcastle and Norwich were level on ten points in 19th and 20th in the Premier League table. Since then the Magpies have added 30 points to their total and the Canaries just 11.
Only Liverpool have taken more points in 2022 than Eddie Howe’s men, who have won nine of their last 13 games. They travel to Carrow Road on a run of three home victories but their away form has not been as strong as their record at St James' Park.
The hosts look unlikely to get out of their relegation battle, with an eight-point gap to safety to overcome. The Canaries have improved their results in recent weeks, gaining a point against Brighton and a win over Burnley before they fought back valiantly against Manchester United before losing 3-2.
Both teams found the net in the reverse fixture between these two and both teams have scored in five of Norwich’s last seven games. The same is fancied once more in what could become an open end-of-season affair.
