Next Burnley manager odds and predictions: Wilder odds-on to take Turf Moor post
Bobo/Glimt's Kjetil Knutsen also under consideration as Clarets step up search
BoyleSports have made Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder the odds-on favourite to become Burnley's next manager.
The Clarets are on the lookout for a new face in the dugout following the decision to part ways with Sean Dyche on Good Friday after nearly a decade with the 50-year-old at the helm.
Wilder was initially installed as a 5-2 chance to replace Dyche but his odds have since come down with BoyleSports as short as 4-11 for him to take over.
The former Sheffield United and Oxford boss had started Wednesday at 11-10 before his odds were drastically cut, but not every firm is quite as convinced Wilder will be leaving Middlesbrough for Burnley after only six months at the Riverside.
Betfair make Wilder a 6-5 chance with reports from the local press in Middlesbrough stating that the club are confident they won't lose their manager.
The highly sought-after Bobo/Glimt coach Kjetil Knutsen sits second in the betting behind Wilder with Paddy Power making him 11-4 to get the job.
Knutsen guided the Norwegian champions to the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League this season, a run which included famous wins over Roma and Celtic, and he's previously been linked with the managerial positions at Norwich and Rangers.
Initial favourite Wayne Rooney is now 12-1 to swap Derby for Burnley, a bigger price than Nuno Esprito Santo at 9-1, while Sam Allardyce's has drifted to 8-1.
Reports indicate Burnley may look to make an interim appointment until the end of the Premier League season with current caretaker Mike Jackson likely to stay in charge if they go down that route.
Jackson oversaw last Sunday's 1-1 draw at West Ham with Academy Director Mike Jenkins and club captain Ben Mee acting as his assistants, and the trio have since been preparing for Thursday's crunch game against Southampton at home.
With seven games remaining Burnley are sat in 18th place, three points from safety with that gap potentially growing to six points before they host the Saints if Everton beat Leicester on Wednesday night.
