Team news
Newcastle
Striker Alexander Isak is pushing for a start, but Joelinton's participation is in doubt following a drink-driving arrest.
Fulham
Aleksandar Mitrovic is available after being banned for Thursday's win over Chelsea but full-back Antonee Robinson is suspended.
Match preview
The sight of their team in the top four of the Premier League a year after their takeover may be a shade above expectations Newcastle fans held 12 months ago, but few would have believed Fulham would be sixth in the table.
The Cottagers, who took the Championship by storm last season, have won their last four Premier League matches, but this could be a tough test against the tightest defence in the division, even if striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is available after suspension.
Eddie Howe's Magpies have been beaten just once in the league this season and are showing no signs of slowing down. Reaching the semi-finals of the League Cup has left them wondering if they can win their first trophy since 1969 and they look well equipped to do just that.
They have the potential to get even stronger now that striker Alexander Isak is fit and there is plainly scope for more moves in this month's transfer window.
But for the exciting football that is generally being produced by the boys in the black and white stripes, they have been super tight at the back, conceding just 11 goals in 18 games and keeping four successive league clean sheets at St James' Park.
Fulham have the ability to threaten and gained a great deal of confidence from Thursday's 2-1 win over Chelsea. They have scored in eight of their nine away games this term and there is an excellent chance they can get a goal.
So that points to an overs bet, but it seems unlikely they will have enough to claim three points. Judging by those four perfect results they have posted since the World Cup, this looks a step up in class.
Chelsea have been down on their luck for a while and played out the final half an hour with ten men, and Leicester, who they beat 1-0 at the King Power, have struggled for consistency.
They needed a late goal to beat relegation-threatened Southampton and Crystal Palace contributed to their 3-0 loss at Selhurst Park by getting two players sent off.
So Newcastle look to be the stronger side and while the 1-2 about a home win may appear to be skinny, backing them to win a game featuring at least three goals could yield a decent return.
