Match preview
Watford's 4-1 home defeat of Manchester United in November signalled the end of the road for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but the clubs have been heading in opposite directions since then.
United's change of manager seems to have had the desired effect with Ralf Rangnick steering them into the top four of the Premier League and presiding over a creditable 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
Winning the Champions League will be a tall order but qualification for next season's competition looks within United's powers.
They have lost only one of 12 Premier League games since Solskjaer's departure and should collect three points and a clean sheet against the Hornets, who look relegation bound after Wednesday's dismal 4-1 loss at home to Crystal Palace.
Key stat
Manchester United have won six of their last seven home matches against Watford without conceding a goal.
