Match preview
There's a growing belief that Leicester can not only gatecrash the top four but repeat their 2015-16 title success this season, although they are going to have to improve their home form if they are to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City.
Their last three games at the King Power this season against English top-flight opponents – Arsenal in the League Cup, West Ham and Villa in the Premier League – have ended in three defeats and not so much as a home goal scored.
Limitations with all their rivals means those two reverses in the league haven't been overly damaging but they do reveal a difficulty in breaking down solid, obdurate and clever opponents – which pretty much describes their next guests, Wolves.
And if West Ham and Aston Villa can win at the King Power, then there is absolutely no doubt that Nuno Espirito Santo's in-form and improving charges can do likewise.
If Leicester are going well then so are Wolves, who are unbeaten in their last four which includes a stretch of three wins to nil. The most recent of those was last Friday's 2-0 triumph over Crystal Palace, their most complete performance of the campaign to date.
Leicester have played twice since then – this will be Leicester's seventh game since the international break a month ago while it is just Wolves' fourth. Clearly Brendan Rodgers makes changes on Europa League nights but the contrasting workloads is stark.
Wolves had teething problems earlier in the season which seem to have been resolved. Conor Coady looks far more authoritative than a month ago, Max Kilman has slotted in seamlessly alongside him, teenager Rayan Ait-Nouri looks to be the wing-back Romain Saiss never was, Ruben Neves has woken up in midfield and Daniel Podence is a star in the making and surely confident after breaking his duck against Palace.
And what Wolves will do, of course, is play with patience, discipline and shape and ensure that Leicester don't get the freedom which they often enjoy on their travels, where Jamie Vardy can be lethal.
Leicester have picked up three points at home this season and 12 away. Vardy's last ten goals, across seven different matches, have been scored away.
Both matches last season ended 0-0 and five of Wolves' seven games this term have produced two goals or less so don't expect fireworks.
Key stat
Five of Wolves' seven league games have produced two goals or fewer.
