Team news

Leicester
James Justin and Wesley Fofana are long-term absentees. Wilfred Ndidi is also sidelined while Jonny Evans must be assessed after withdrawing from the Northern Ireland squad. Kelechi Iheanacho is back in action.

Manchester United
Raphael Varane has been ruled out and joins club captain Harry Maguire on the sidelines. Fred and Edinson Cavani are doubts due to their late returns from international duty but Marcus Rashford is back in full training.

Match preview

Two teams decimated by defensive injuries face off at the King Power Stadium, where goals should be at the forefront.

Leicester have made a disappointing start to the campaign, winning only twice in seven outings, and their early-season struggles have been exacerbated by the absence of first-choice defenders James Justin, Wesley Fofana and Jonny Evans.

With midfield chaperone Wilfred Ndidi also sidelined, the Foxes are far from watertight, although the same may be said for Manchester United.

The Red Devils have managed only one clean sheet in seven league outings and have their own concerns with commanding centre-backs Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane set to miss out.

The Foxes have failed to score only once in the Premier League this term and have played out consecutive 2-2 draws with Burnley and Crystal Palace.

Jamie Vardy has hit the ground running with six goals in seven games and should be confident of tackling a United defence that Leicester breached seven times from three meetings last season.

That said, road warriors United are unbeaten in 29 away league games and boast a star-studded frontline that will also strike fear into the flaky Foxes.
