Match preview
Consecutive wins over Sheffield United and Brighton have fired Leicester back into the Premier League's top four and they can live up to their lofty league position with victory over Everton.
The talk of a Foxes’ title challenge was readily dismissed after they were outclassed 3-0 by an injury-hit Liverpool at Anfield last month, and those doubts looked justified when they put in another laboured display in a home defeat to Fulham.
However, not for the first time this season, Leicester have responded superbly to a setback and their record of eight wins from 12 games is the highest in the division.
The suspension to Jonny Evans is a big blow, but Leicester have shown on numerous occasions this season they can adapt to life without key personnel.
The Foxes have already played three games without the defensive organisation of Evans this season and they won on each of those occasions against West Brom, Burnley and Leeds.
James Maddison being reinstalled into the starting 11 has also improved performances. He set up Jamie Vardy for the late winner at Bramall Lane before bagging a first-half brace and another assist for Vardy in Sunday’s 3-0 beating of Brighton.
When Maddison and Vardy - who has been directly involved in 14 goals in 11 league games - are on song, Leicester mean business and that could spell trouble for an Everton side who are proving inconsistent on their travels.
The Toffees toppled Chelsea 1-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday, but they were buoyed by home support and relied on the counter-attack after having only 28 per cent possession.
A different test is in store at Leicester and their last four away league games have seen them slip up at Southampton and Newcastle and held to a draw by Burnley.
Creative Colombian James Rodriguez and flying full-back Lucas Digne remain out for the Toffees, which reduces the service provided for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Key stat
Everton have conceded 18 goals in 12 league games - only five teams have been breached more this season.
