Match preview

Everton were the last team to inflict Premier League defeat on Leicester and the Foxes could come unstuck against the Toffees again minus star striker Jamie Vardy.

Since suffering a 2-0 defeat to Everton at the King Power Stadium in December, Leicester have gone six league games unbeaten - a run highlighted by wins over Chelsea and Tottenham and a point against Manchester United.

The third-placed Foxes have also won seven of their nine away league games this season, but playing on the road is well-suited to their counter-attacking style and without the pace and guile of Vardy that threat is reduced.

The fleet-footed striker has scored 11 of Leicester's 35 league goals this season - he has also grabbed five assists - and the only Premier League game he didn’t feature in resulted in a 1-0 home defeat to Aston Villa.

But placing maximum faith in Everton, who have lost three of their last five league games at Goodison and are weakened in midfield without Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure, isn’t easy either.

Punters should instead take a chance on Carlo Ancelotti’s men exploiting Leicester’s vulnerability from set-pieces.

Eight of the 21 league goals Leicester have conceded this season have come from set plays and they also fell behind on their FA Cup trip to Brentford on Sunday after failing to defend a corner.

Mason Holgate grabbed Everton’s second goal against Leicester in December from a dead-ball situation and it is an area Ancelotti may utilise.

The Toffees have scored nine of their 28 goals from set-pieces, the joint-highest tally in the Premier League this season, and in commanding centre-backs Yerry Mina and Michael Keane they have two great aerial threats.

Keane has three league goals this term while Colombian counterpart Mina has two and punters should consider splitting their stakes each-way on the pair to open the scoring.

Key stat

Six of the nine goals Leicester have conceded away from home this season have come from set-pieces.
