Southampton have won three of their last four Premier League matches and a 1-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday was the crowning moment of their strong run of form.

However, the quick turnaround of fixtures is a big ask of a relatively small squad and it isn't made any easier by Southampton's growing list of absentees.

Moussa Djenepo, Jannik Vestergaard, Sofiane Boufal and Yan Valery will not make the trip to Merseyside while Pierre Hojbjerg may only make the bench.

That leaves little room for manager Ralph Hasenhuttl to rotate a Saints side who had just 26 per cent possession against City and spent much of the game chasing the ball.

Everton were beaten by Spurs on Monday night but prior to that defeat they had grabbed a draw in the Merseyside derby and wins over Norwich and Leicester.

The Toffees have injury concerns themselves, not least the loss of defender Mason Holgate, but they have a deeper squad and are more capable of replacing the absentees.

Everton have drifted to odds-against prices and given their major improvement under Carlo Ancelotti this represents a winnable fixture for a rejuvenated side.
