Team news
Everton
Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes, Ben Godfrey, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Andros Townsend are all sidelined, but new signing Amadou Onana could make his first start after coming off the bench last weekend.
Nottingham Forest
Omar Richards is the only confirmed absentee for Nottingham Forest, although Ryan Yates is a doubt. Emmanuel Dennis, Remo Freuler and Morgan Gibbs-White could make their debuts after joining Steve Cooper’s side.
Match preview
Few teams have looked as beleaguered as injury-stricken Everton in the opening two weeks of the Premier League season and their heads could drop further still when they welcome a buoyant Nottingham Forest to Goodison Park.
Forest enjoyed a deserved win as Premier League football made its long-awaited return to the City Ground last weekend and they will feel another scalp is there for the taking given Everton have won just six league games in 2022.
With Richarlison gone and Dominic Calvert-Lewin injured, the Toffees look woefully short up front - a point ironically illustrated by the fact their only goal of the season came courtesy of former Blue Lucas Digne’s own goal at Villa Park last weekend.
Things do not look much better at the back, either, and Forest look more than capable of getting a result against a side who have lost four of their last five in the league.
Key stat
Everton have an expected goals-against figure of 4.59 after just two games - the highest of any Premier League team.
