Everton or draw double chance
Stalemates have been the norm when Everton and Liverpool have squared off at Goodison and another close match in on the cards.
Liverpool approach the contest as hot favourites but they have shared the points on seven of their last eight trips to Everton and facing another stern test against a side determined to give their supporters something to smile about.
Rafa Benitez will be focused on denying space to Liverpool's offensive trio of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane, who have amassed league tallies of 11, seven and seven.
Keeping all of them quiet will be a challenge but Everton's have been given a boost by the return from injury of Abdoulaye Doucoure.
The match could be closer than the markets anticipate and there is value in backing the home side to avoid defeat.
Under three goals
Three of the last four Merseyside derbies at Goodison have finished goalless and the low-scoring fare looks likely to continue.
Liverpool are one of the best counter-attacking teams in Europe and they top the Premier League scoring charts with 39 goals in 13 games.
However, they rely a lot on attacking the space in behind opposing defences and that could be denied them by Everton boss Rafa Benitez, who is likely to instruct his team to sit deep and soak up the pressure.
Everton carried out similar tactics to good effect when drawing 1-1 at Manchester United earlier in the season and they can be competitive against their fierce rivals.
Abdoulaye Doucoure to be booked
Everton's midfield must get through a mountain of work and a lot will depend on the athleticism of Abdoulaye Doucoure, who had an excellent game on his return to the side in Sunday's 1-0 loss at Brentford.
The 28-year-old will have to make plenty of tackles but it will be tough to get his timing right on every occasion and he looks a strong candidate to enter referee Paul Tierney's notebook.
