Team news

Crystal Palace
Palace have no new fitness concerns and could be unchanged from their draw at Liverpool. Nathan Ferguson, Jack Butland, James McArthur and James Tomkins remain out.

Aston Villa
Defender Diego Carlos ruptured his Achilles tendon during last week's victory over Everton and could be out for the season. Ezri Konsa or Calum Chambers will take his place, while Kortney Hause is fit again and Emi Buendia is pushing for a first start of the campaign.

Match preview

Crystal Palace held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw on Monday and there was enough from the Eagles at Anfield to suggest they can swoop in and grab three points off Aston Villa.

Palace were dominated on the possession stats, as you may expect against the Reds, but lost the shots-on-target count only 4-3.

Patrick Vieira has instilled a solidity to his side at Selhurst Park where they have lost just one of their last nine fixtures in all competitions.

And although finding wins has been slightly more difficult - Palace drew 15 of their 38 league matches last term - they look a value bet to edge to victory with Villa getting on the scoresheet.

Both teams have scored in each of the last three meetings and although Villa got the better of Everton last week, it was far from a polished performance by the Villans and they may struggle to back it up this weekend.

Key stat

Crystal Palace have lost just one of their last nine home matches in all competitions.
