The tight race for Champions League places became even more competitive on Monday when Manchester City's two-year ban was overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Chelsea lead the pack chasing the two remaining places behind champions Liverpool and City, but there is even less room for slip-ups now with Leicester and Manchester United waiting to pounce.

The Blues' defensive frailties were exposed in Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Sheffield United but even their creaking rearguard have little to fear from relegated Norwich and Frank Lampard's side should score a comfortable home victory.

The Canaries' return to the Sky Bet Championship was confirmed by a 4-0 home defeat to West Ham and that result underlined their problems at both ends of the pitch.

Hammers forward Michail Antonio helped himself to four goals – the same number as Norwich have scored in their last 14 Premier League games.

Two of those were penalties from top scorer Teemu Pukki, who has not found the net since January, and it is hard to see how coach Daniel Farke can rouse his players in time for the trip to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea had arrived at Bramall Lane in pursuit of an eighth victory in nine games in all competitions but they were blown away by the Blades despite dominating possession.

Their defensive lapses came as little surprise following a 3-2 defeat at West Ham and a nervy 3-2 win at Crystal Palace in their previous two away games but they have the perfect opportunity to get back on track against the weakest team in the top flight.

Norwich provided Frank Lampard with his first league win as Chelsea manager when Tammy Abraham scored twice in an entertaining 3-2 victory at Carrow Road in August.

That was part of a promising start to the season for 2018-19 Championship title winners Norwich, who went on to beat Manchester City 3-2 in their following home game.

However, the goals have dried up for Farke's men since the turn of the year and they have lost nine of their last ten matches either side of the coronavirus break.

Splitting stakes between the 3-0 and 4-0 Chelsea victories in the correct-score market looks a decent play due to Norwich's woeful goalscoring record.

The Blues will be desperate to atone for their poor performances at the back recently and they are far more secure on their own patch. Just 16 of the 49 goals they have conceded in the league have come at Stamford Bridge.

They beat Everton 4-0 in their last home match before the season was suspended before beating Manchester City 2-1 and Watford 3-0 after the restart.

Lampard's men kept another clean sheet away to Leicester in the FA Cup and the return to fitness of N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic should offer more solidity in midfield.

Chelsea have had no problems going forward since the restart, scoring 12 goals in their five games prior to the defeat at Sheffield United.

There are goalscoring threats throughout the side with striker Olivier Giroud flanked by the in-form Willian and Christian Pulisic while Ross Barkley and Mason Mount maraud forward from midfield.
