Match preview
Tottenham's top-four hopes are hanging by a thread after Saturday's damaging 3-2 loss at Manchester United but they can respond with a victory at out-of-form Brighton.
Poor defending and some flashes of brilliance from Cristiano Ronaldo were the main factors in the Londoners' weekend reverse at Old Trafford, which leaves them six points adrift of fourth place.
However, Spurs played plenty of decent football and the midfield partnership of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur continues to blossom.
Winning the midfield exchanges will not be easy against Brighton, who place a high priority on controlled possession, but Spurs are likely to carry the greater cutting edge with Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son looking as sharp as they have all season.
Brighton played some decent stuff for large parts of Saturday's 2-0 loss at home to Liverpool but it was their fifth successive defeat and their slide may be set to continue.
