Match preview
Pep Guardiola has eyes only for Chelsea in Porto on the 29th right now which means there is surely scarcely any point wanting to be with Manchester City at short odds at the Amex.
The Spaniard rang the changes at Newcastle on Friday night and was rewarded - if that's the right word - with a 4-3 win. It was the first time they had conceded three in a game since September and it could have been worse – and against a Magpies team who are pretty poor.
Maybe the title celebrations affected their build-up, but either way Guardiola is going to be rotating on a grand scale over these next two games, introducing a few more kids into the squad, and is still without Kevin de Bruyne.
And that should give Brighton a decent chance of doing something memorable on this occasion. Graham Potter must love the fact that Guardiola is hugely respectful of what he has done at the Amex, and here's a golden chance to impress the City boss once more.
Albion have taken points off Chelsea and West Ham in recent weeks and have a consistent knack of giving all the top teams a real test.
They also draw a lot of games, 14 in total, which is the most in the top division. So, if City are short enough to be taken on, it seems wise to keep the stalemate on your side.
Key stat
Brighton have drawn a league-high nine home games this season.
