Manchester United were the only member of the big six to fail to win on the opening weekend of the Premier League season and they may struggle to beat Brentford in the capital.

Erik ten Hag has inherited a lot of problems and will almost certainly need more than one transfer window to sort the situation out.

United lost six away games in a row at the end of last season and could have no complaints about last Sunday's 2-1 home defeat to Brighton.

The Red Devils look like a team in transition and may drop further points against the Bees, who came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Leicester on the opening weekend.

Ten Hag must be sorely tempted to bring Cristiano Ronaldo into his starting line-up and the inclusion of the Portuguese would increase the chances of a high-scoring game.

United may choose to axe one of their defensive-minded midfielders, Fred or Scott McTominay, and that would give Brentford the green light to hit them on the counter.

There should be plenty of goalmouth action and both teams could get on the scoresheet.

The 26-year-old will want to catch the eye of England manager Gareth Southgate in the lead-up to the World Cup and looks a strong candidate to break the deadlock this weekend.
