Team news
Brentford
Ivan Toney is available to return and Sergi Canos has completed a one-game ban but Ethan Pinnock, Kristoffer Ajer, Josh Dasilva and David Raya remain unavailable.
Man Utd
An unknown number of players have tested positive for coronavirus but Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Edinson Cavani could be back in contention. Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial are sidelined.
Match preview
Manchester United have kicked off the Ralf Rangnick era with a pair of 1-0 wins but they had David De Gea to thank for a clean sheet against Norwich and may struggle to achieve a shutout against Brentford in west London.
The visit of United is another special occasion for Brentford fans, who are enjoying their club's first taste of Premier League football.
Eight of the Bees' last 11 league games have generated at least three goals and there should be thrills and spills against United with both teams to score standing out as a solid wager.
Brentford's never-say-die attitude was key to Friday's come-from-behind 2-1 success at home to Watford, which has lifted them nine points clear of the drop zone.
They had some big players missing against the Hornets but were worthy winners after winning the shot count 14 to six.
And they are bolstered before the visit of United by the availability of star striker Ivan Toney, back in the mix after a Covid isolation period, and attacker Sergi Canos, who has served a one game ban.
Both can ask questions of a United defence which failed to convince against Norwich – the division's lowest scorers – on Saturday.
Brentford's issues could be at the other end.
United are still a long way from realising their attacking potential but they have scored on each of their 11 road trips this season and should expose a Bees rearguard weakened by the absence of centre-backs Ethan Pinnock and Kristoffer Ajer.
