Team news

Bournemouth
Defender Chris Mepham is suspended while Lloyd Kelly is unlikely to return until after the World Cup. David Brooks and goalkeeper Neto remain sidelined.

Everton
Midfield duo Idrissa Gueye and Amadou Onana are fit to play but Ben Godfrey, Andros Townsend and Mason Holgate remain out. Dominic Calvert-Lewin will use the six-week domestic break to recover from injury.

Match preview

Just four days after Bournemouth’s emphatic 4-1 win over Everton in the third round of the EFL Cup the teams square up again at the Vitality Stadium, but this time chasing three precious points in the scrap for Premier League survival.

Both teams were able to ring the changes in the midweek cup clash so that form should be taken lightly and a more cagey contest looks likely in their rematch.

The Cherries have fared better than expected this season but are on a four-game losing streak and have failed to score in four of their seven home league outings.

Everton are more settled defensively since forming a centre-back partnership of Conor Coady and James Tarkowski, but their forwards are in less convincing form - they have fired blanks on their last three away trips - while star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is back on the sidelines with a thigh injury.
