Team news
Aston Villa
Diego Carlos (calf), John McGinn (thigh) and Lucas Digne (shoulder) are not expected to feature.
Leicester
Wilfred Ndidi (personal reasons) is unavailable and James Justin (achilles), Ricardo Pereira, Jonny Evans (both calf), Boubacar Soumare (thigh) and Ryan Bertrand (knee) are injured. Jamie Vardy (buttock) and Harry Souttar (hip) face late fitness tests.
Match preview
James Maddison has been the standout player in a disappointing campaign for Leicester and his anticipated first Premier League start since the World Cup can help the Foxes to avoid defeat against Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Leicester had looked to be climbing away from danger in the run-up to the World Cup and Maddison played a leading role in their revival.
The Foxes posted three successive away wins before the break with Maddison scoring in victories over Wolves (4-0) and West Ham (2-0) and supplying both assists in the 2-0 triumph against Everton.
The 26-year-old has produced 11 Premier League goal involvements (seven goals and four assists) in just 14 appearances and his talent will be crucial to staving off the threat of relegation.
Villa are ten points better off than Leicester having made some good early progress under Unai Emery, but they are not an outstanding team and may be worth opposing this weekend.
